Disclaimer

The things most easily misread about this site, stated plainly.

Not a government service

This is a private commercial site. It is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by or contracted to the City of Akron, Summit County, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, the Ohio Department of Transportation, or any other public body. Where a department, ordinance or phone number is named on these pages, it is named so you can use it directly, including in the cases where using it is free and using this service would not be.

Not the company doing the work

This site advertises and books. An independent operator performs the removal. It keeps no office, no crew and no equipment, and it does not attend properties.

No credentials are claimed

No page here claims a license, permit, bond, insurance policy, certification, membership, award, rating or number of years in business, for this site or for any operator. Nothing on this site should be read as vouching for anyone’s qualifications. Ask the operator directly.

No prices are published

No figure appears anywhere on this site, because the price depends on the job and nobody has seen yours. The operator quotes it before work starts.

Finished walls and ceilings

Recovery is attempted through the access a building already has. Cutting into finished drywall, plaster or a ceiling is not offered, and where a carcass is genuinely sealed with no route to it, that is said rather than worked around.

Odor after removal

Taking the animal away stops the smell getting worse and removes most of its source. Residual odor from what the carcass was lying against commonly takes a couple of weeks to fade. Nothing here should be read as promising an immediate return to normal.

Health and safety

Nothing on this site is medical or veterinary advice. If you have handled a carcass, been bitten or scratched, or a bat has been in a room with a sleeping person or a child, contact a doctor or your local health department rather than relying on anything written here.

Municipal detail changes

Ordinance numbers, departmental scope, phone numbers and hours change. What is published here was checked when it was written and is not maintained in real time. Confirm anything that matters with the department itself.
